SCHOOL BUSINESS MANAGER 

Permanent, full-time (37 hours per week) to start as soon as possible.  Our working hours are 8am to 4pm but our approach to hybrid working means that we can discuss different options with you to support sustainable work-life balance. Part-time and job share arrangements will also be considered.

VTG11 SP34 – VTG12 SP41 (£34,437 – £41,548) per annum (pro rata if part time) + Health Cash Plan and Benefits package

We will be able to offer this at a lower grade as a developmental opportunity with relevant training being provided.

 

Venturers Trust is a dynamic and focused multi-academy trust based in Bristol, formed in September 2017 through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust. The Trust is responsible for eight academies, 3,500 pupils and 750 staff with a commitment to making a significant and lifelong difference to the lives of young people from some of Bristol’s most disadvantaged communities.   

  

If you have experience in HR, finance, health and safety and people management and would enjoy a varied role working closely with a supportive leadership team at Venturers Academy’, an exciting opportunity is available to you as School Business Manager.  You must be self-motivated, highly organised and committed.  Training will be provided to further enhance your development.

 

What the role involves:

 

  • Taking the lead in finance, human resources, premises management and data protection working closely with the Trust Central Services Team.  
  • Managing health and safety, compliance and administration
  • Working directly with the Principal to manage budgets and procurement
  • Managing the operation of the business functions of the school
  • Advising and implementing day-to-day support to all the SLT to promote efficiency

Candidates for this post should have:

  • Higher level education to include English Language and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working within defined budgets
  • Experience of managing and leading admin teams
  • Ability to use initiative, prioritise and meet deadlines
