Venturers' Christmas Production

Holly icon 31 Our Christmas Ad-Venturers'

Venturers’ Academy performed their first ever Christmas production on Thursday 15th December in the Academy hall, joined by all our parents, carers, and some of our governors.

It was a wonderful and highly moving production, with every child included and performing in front of a large audience.

Not only did we fulfil one of the aims of the English curriculum in that the children were able to communicate their ideas and emotions to others, but they were also having ‘a wonderful Christmas time.’

Orange Class performed a Christmas version of ‘Bingo’, substituting this with the word ‘Santa’ and each child had a solo performance .The crowd loved it and everyone joined in.

Blue Class delighted the audience with their interpretation of ‘When Santa got stuck up the chimney,’ and sneezed with great gusto!

Purple Class had choreographed their take on Jingle Bell Rock and impressed us with their accurate percussion accompaniments and skilful dance moves.

Green Class had made their own video of Clement Moore’s ’Twas the night before Christmas, ’and read fluently and with confidence and completed their performance with a verse of ‘Jingle bells’ brilliantly performed as a solo, again with percussion accompaniment.

Red Class sang and signed ‘I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas and impressed the audience with their tuneful and expressive singing and the sheer enjoyment on their faces!

Burgundy Class provided super entertainment with a rendition of ‘Rockin’ around the Christmas tree,’ complete with an air Saxophone solo and a lead singer who certainly rocked the room!

We were treated to a performance of ‘The twelve days of Christmas at Venturers’ Academy’ and the audience really enjoyed participating in this beautifully presented Christmas favourite.

We were able to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, through a poem by Johnnie DesRochers;

C is for the child born that night

H is for holy is His name

R is for rejoice with gladness and joy

I is for Immanuel

S is for the star that led the Wise men to Him

T is for the truth and grace that was sent our way

M is for Mother Mary laying him in the manger

A is for angels singing songs of joy

S is for salvation

Thank you to our wonderful students and their families. We wish you all a very Happy Christmas!
